We chatted to Rylu about why he chose to study a Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ara | Te Pūkenga in Christchurch:
What are your career aspirations?
Some day, I would like to work in a national tourism organisation and tell great stories about New Zealand, and its beautiful scenery and landscapes and make it a primary destination for travellers around the world.
What you’re enjoying most about your studies?
I enjoy that I’m learning skills that will enhance my
career, especially in terms of being a manager in the future.
What is your top tip for choosing a course and university?
If you want to study tourism or hospitality, do it! It’s a very fun industry to study and work in. The best advice I can give is to make connections and be outgoing – this is one of the best things you can do to be successful in this industry.
