Go with Tourism is a government-funded initiative that aims to build New Zealand’s Tourism and Hospitality workforce. An estimated 80,000 workers are required in our industry in the next five years and it is our mandate to raise awareness of what career opportunities are available, connect employers and jobseekers, and breakdown any negativity that surrounds careers in our industry. Go with Tourism run projects to achieve these goals, from our Job Connector platform, to our career expos and Education Programme, engaging marketing campaigns and more.
Yes, you will not be asked for any form of payment for any of our services.
Go with Tourism is currently operating on a budget of $5.2 million, funded by the International Conservation and Visitor Tourism Levy. This funding was awarded to our initiative in early 2020.
Go with Tourism assists with job search and recruitment, so if you are jobseeker or an employer we encourage you to visit your dedicated hubs on our website. We also assist students and teachers with work experience, teaching resources and tools to help students decide on their future careers. Visit the students and teachers page to find out more. STUDENTS & TEACHERS
Currently, we support students and teachers by offering our Education Programme and teaching resources, work experience opportunities, online tools and online courses, and informative articles that cover a range of topics. The Education Programme is a two-part lesson plan delivered by Go with Tourism regional coordinators. It covers the wide range of opportunities available in Tourism and Hospitality through engaging activity and presentations. Please book sessions through your local regional coordinator. We currently offer training programmes for teachers through our partnership with Global Travel & Tourism Partnership. Information will be available on the students and teachers page or contact your local regional coordinator. Unfortunately, we currently do not have our own training programmes or scholarships for students; however, please visit our Knowledge Hub for further information on opportunities from our partners in the industry.

Our Job Connector, dubbed “Tinder for Tourism”, allows you to access the job profiles of thousands of potential candidates using filters that best suit your vacancy. Additionally, you can list jobs on our Job Search Hub.

Go with Tourism vets all employers before placing them into our system as we make it a rule not to work with businesses who do not meet our standards. However, we do suggest you do your own research as well, to ensure you are comfortable with the business you are applying to / interviewing for.
